The American Mathematics Competition is held each year in February. The test is offered at two different dates (an A test and a B test). Past tests along with an explanation of the solutions are available online at the Art of Problem Solving Website. For your convenience, the links are also listed below. Ninth and Tenth graders generally compete in the AMC 10 while 11th and 12th graders must take the AMC 12. Students who score high enough on the AMC 12 may qualify for the American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME). This is a very high honor. Students who do well enough on that exam may then go on to represent the USA in international competitions.
The AMC 10B and 12B Tests will be offered during periods 1 and 2 on Thursday February 15th. This is a 75 minute, non-calculator test, multiple choice test. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Dorsing in the math office or via email: Elizabeth.Dorsing@ahschools.us
